Oshiomhole’s Suspension Ordered To Cause Mischief Within APC, Osagie Claims

A former lawmaker and governance expert, Honourable Samson Osagie has reacted to a court order restraining Adams Oshiomhole from parading himself as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Osagie’s comment comes a day after Justice Danlami Senchi of the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja granted an order of interim injunction stopping Oshiomhole from claiming to be the part’s chief.

The former lawmaker who was as a guest on Channels Television’s Lunchtime Politics on Thursday believes the court order was to create damage within the ruling APC.

“For me, the order is created to cause mischief within the ruling party, the APC. It is an order that ought not to have been granted at all given the fact that there was no basis for it,” he claimed.

“Because the matter is in court and as a lawyer, one fears the possibility of running into the contempt of court, it will be important to look at the facts which of course precipitated this awl action.”

Speaking further, the APC member noted that “the purported suspension of the national chairman from his ward was done by a suspended ward chairman with a few relegates within that ward executive.”

But the Senior Special Assistant to Edo State Governor on Public Affairs, Adaze Emwanta, is not on the same page with the former lawmaker.

The Senior Special Assistant to Edo State Governor on Public Affairs, Adaze Emwanta and a former lawmaker and a governance expert, Honourable Samson Osagie trade words on the suspension of APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole on March 5, 2020.

While countering Osagie’s claim, Governor Godwin Obaseki’s aide regretted while the former lawmaker being a lawyer would think the court order was issued by a judge to create mischief.

“It is quite unfortunate when you hear a lawyer in one breath describe a court order as an act of mischief and in another breath says he does not want to be guilty of contempt. That is contempt.

“The former national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole was duly suspended on November 12, 2019 by the ward executives,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Oshiomhole has appealed the court judgement which suspended him as the national chairman of the party.

Hours after the court granted an order of interim injunction restraining Oshiomhole from parading himself as APC National Chairman, he filed a suit challenging the decision.
