JUST IN: IGP meeting with CPs DIGs, AIGs to review security arrangement for March 9 polls

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) is meeting with commissioners of police from the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to review the security arrangements of just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections.

The meeting, which is holding at the IGP’s conference room, is also aimed at reviewing the security arrangements for for the March, 9 gubernatorial and houses of assembly elections.

The meeting would also discuss the under-utilization of the Technical Intelligence Unit of the force, general security in the country, amongst others.

The meeting is being attended by all the Deputy Inspectors General of police (DIGs), Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIGs), and other senior officers.
