[JUST IN] Alleged Unethical Conduct: FCMB Directs MD, Adam Nuru To Go On Leave Pending Determination Of Probe

First City Monument Bank(FCMB) has mandated its Managing Director, Mr. Adam Nuru to proceed on a leave pending the determination of the probe being conducted over alleged unethical conduct.

Recall it is in the news that a Group had earlier ignited a petition to the CBN & FCMB Board, demanding the sack of the MD.

This is based on the allegation that the MD foisted a state of depression on a deceased husband of a former employee, resulting in his death.

It was alleged that the MD had an illicit affair with the deceased wife which produced two children, which the deceased husband thought was his, not until the wife traveled to America when she later disclosed the fact that the children are not for him.

This incident coupled with some other things allegedly resulted in the death of the deceased person.

Meanwhile, First City Monument Bank (FCMB) had earlier issued an official statement regarding the controversies against its Managing Director, Mr. Adamu Nuru.

The bank noted that it is “aware of several stories circulating across several social media platforms about our Managing Director Adam Nuru, a former employee Ms Moyo Thomas and her deceased husband, Mr. Tunde Thomas”.

In addition, the bank added that the review will cover likelihood of ‘any violations of our code of ethics and the adequacy of these code of conduct ethics’, adding that same will be done with urgency and ‘immediately’.

In the light of the above, the bank is reported to have asked the MD proceed on leave with a view to having an effective probe.

It was reported that the decision to ask him proceed on leave came pursuant to the recommendation of the panel probing the allegation against the MD.
