The All Progressive Congress, (APC) chieftain in Ife, Hon Rotimi Makinde has commiserated with the former Deputy Governor of Osun State and former Senator who represented Osun East at the upper chamber of National Assembly, Senator Iyiola Omisore, over the demise of his father, Olu of Ayepe Olode, in Osun state, Oba David Olajide Omisore.
Makinde in a condolence letter obtained by veracitydesk.com.ng on Tuesday expressed shock at the passing of Olu of Ayepe Olode, in Osun state, Oba Olajide Omisore, at the early hours of Tuesday in Osun State at the age of 90 years.
The APC leader, who was former member of Federal House of Representatives described the death of the monarch as painful, beseeched God to grant him rest in His bosom and further pray to God to comfort all those baba left behind.
He added that the nonagenarian lived a remarkable life, touched many lives and mentored many young ones for many years across the old Western Region of Nigeria.”To live to see grey hair on your children was definitely a good life spent” .He said.
He enjoined the family to continue to advance the ideals the monarch propagated throughout his life time.
“Your Excellency, Senator Iyiola Omisore, I am saddened over the death of your father, the Olu of Ayepe Olode, in Osun state, Oba David Olajide Omisore.
“Please accept my condolences and through you to other members of the family and relations left behind by our highly revered Kabiyesi, Oba Omisore.
“The passing of our parents can be painful indeed. No matter how old they may be, we never wanted them to leave,” Makinde said.
He added that he knew how close the former Deputy Governor was to his father and the remarkable influence he had on him.
Hon. Makinde, however, said that it was necessary to thank Almighty God that the mornach attained an advanced age, served his people, Nigeria and humanity meritoriously.
“He was an excellent human being, a deeply religious leader who provided them exemplary leadership.
“His passing is no doubt a huge loss to Ife Kingdom and indeed Ayepe Olode, Osun State and Nigeria,” he said.
Makinde added that he was glad that late Kabiyesi left behind wonderful children including a former Deputy Governor and Senator who had also gone on to serve the state and the country well in various capacities.
He also condoled with Governor Gboyega Oyetola and the government and people of Osun State over the passing of their eminent figure and prayed that God would give them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
