First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Group founder, Otunba Michael Olasubomi Balogun, who will be celebrating his 85th birthday tomorrow, has attributed his longevity and agility to the amazing grace of God.
The accomplished banker and philanthropist, in a chat with newsmen in Lagos, was full of gratitude to God for the divine grace upon his life, which has enabled him to age gracefully with strong mental capacity even at 85.
He said: “I’m extremely grateful to my maker, for making me still very agile, meticulous, articulate and still behaving like a 60-year old. I want to thank my maker for his awesome benevolence to humble me.
“I’m at peace with my God. I marvel at every occasion – why has He been so kind to me? It is the amazing grace of God. Even at the climax of everything I may have achieved, I attribute everything to the awesomeness of God, His love for little me. The whole essence of my celebration is to give thanks to my maker and I would ask him to endow me with the wherewithal to continue to be appreciative of all He has done for me in my life.”
Otunba Balogun, the Head of all Christians in Ijebuland and Olori Omo-oba of Ijebuland, also said the magnitude of divine love showered on him is only igniting the fire of his zeal to expend his whole life in the service of God and humanity.
