The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has decried the inadequate space at the apron side of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.
This is as DHL, which presently uses Lagos Airport as its hub in West Africa has threatened to relocate its operations away from the airport to Ghana.
Mrs. Victoria Shin-Aba, Regional General Manager, South West, stated this yesterday during the tour of the airport facilities.
Shin-Aba said that it presently has four parking bays for cargo and 14 Avio bridges at the international wing of the airport, but lamented that some of the facilities were being taken over by either unserviceable aircraft or serviceable aeroplanes that were not put into use by their owners.
She stated that the Lagos Airport at present operates 272 aircraft movement daily; arrival and departure.
