President Muhammadu Buhari has shortlisted a name of an Assistant Inspector General of Police from Nasarawa State as possible replacement of the retiring Inspector-General of Police Ibrahim Idris.
Our correspondent gathered that President Muhammadu Buhari would most likely announce Abubakar Adamu Mohammed as new Inspector-General of Police as Idris would be taking a bow from office having reached the Force’s mandatory retirement age of 60 years.
It was learnt that the president made his choice today from a list of names of officers presented to him based on competence and discipline.
The chosen one, according to presidential sources would be announced on Tuesday, 15th of January, 2019.
