First team manager of Everton Football Club, Rafael Benitez has been fired.
Benitez was fired on Sunday, the English Premier League side confirmed.
Everton confirmed the sack of Benitez with a statement on its official website.
The club say they are looking for a replacement and an announcement would be made in due course.
The statement reads: “Everton Football Club can confirm the departure of Rafael Benitez as First Team manager.
“Benitez, who joined Everton in June 2021, has left the Club with immediate effect.
“An update on a permanent replacement will be made in due course”.
Benitez, who was drafted in to replace Carlo Ancelotti at Goodison Park, was fired after Everton lost 2:1 to Norwich on Saturday.
The Toffees are currently placed in 16th position on the premier league table.
