2019: Amaechi Backs Atiku, Peter Obi Partnership

The decision of 2019 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to pick former Anambra Governor, Peter Obi as his running mate has enjoyed the support of First Republic Minister of Aviation, Chief Mbazulike Amaechi.

The elder statesman described Atiku and Obi as a good team due to their exposure, adding that it was Atiku’s time to rule.

Amaechi made this known in a Friday statement after Atiku announced his choice of Obi as vice presidential candidate in Abuja.

Also, he warned the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) against any attempt to rig the 2019 general elections, and deplored the conduct of the recent gubernatorial elections in Ekiti and Osun states.

Amaechi said, “Peter Obi is an experienced politician, administrator, and businessman. Obi and Atiku are widely exposed.

“Nigeria needs an enlightened government that will manage our economy very well. This is Atiku’s time to reign and with Peter Obi, I think it is a good team.

“I don’t know how the South West will take it but I want to advise the APC against rigging the elections.

“The things I saw in Ekiti and Osun states were not elections.”
